The Somers Veterans & Families Legacy Park is being created as a lasting place of honor, remembrance, reflection, and community — recognizing the service and sacrifice of veterans and military families across generations. Turning that vision into reality will take the support of an entire community.
The Community Founders Circle recognizes the first 100 qualifying supporters whose early financial or in-kind contributions help move the Legacy Park from vision to reality. Once all 100 Community Founder positions have been filled, the Community Founders Circle will close. Those original 100 will remain part of the permanent history of the Legacy Park.

What Is a Community Founder?
A Community Founder is an individual, family, business, organization, or community partner that contributes at least $500 in recognized value toward the Somers Veterans & Families Legacy Park while Community Founder positions remain available.
Qualifying support may include:
• Financial contributions
• Donated materials or supplies
• Professional or skilled services
• Significant project-related in-kind labor
• A combination of monetary and approved in-kind support
Recognition Value and Tax Treatment
Certain donated materials, goods, professional services, or significant project-related labor may be approved by the Foundation for Community Founder recognition. For recognition purposes, the Foundation may assign a reasonable documented value to qualifying non-cash support.
A recognition value is used solely for Foundation recognition and administrative purposes and does not establish the amount of a charitable tax deduction. Donated services or volunteer labor will NOT be represented by the Foundation as a deductible charitable contribution value. Donors should consult their own tax adviser regarding deductibility and valuation.
A Founder Today. A Growing Legacy Tomorrow.
Community Founder is a permanent distinction.
A supporter does not lose Community Founder status if later donations move that supporter into a higher giving category. The Founder designation honors when the supporter stepped forward. The donor-recognition level reflects how much qualifying support that donor has cumulatively provided over time.
Your Support Adds Up
You do not have to make your entire contribution at once. Additional qualifying contributions to the Somers Veterans & Families Legacy Park are added to your cumulative Legacy Park giving total. As that cumulative total grows, a donor may advance into higher recognition levels while always retaining the Community Founder designation.

STEP 1
Initial qualifying contribution: $500
Recognition:
Community Founder + Freedom Supporter

STEP 2
Additional contribution: $1,000
Cumulative Legacy Park support:
$1,500

STEP 3
Updated recognition
Community Founder + Honor Sponsor
Community Founder status remains permanent. Your general donor-recognition level can increase as your cumulative qualifying Legacy Park support grows.

BE PART OF HOW THE LEGACY BEGAN
The Somers Veterans & Families Legacy Park will stand for generations.
But there will only be 100 Community Founders.
These are the individuals, families, businesses, organizations, and community partners who stepped forward during the founding campaign and helped move the Park from vision to reality.
When the 100th Community Founder joins us, the circle will close — but their place in the history of the Legacy Park will remain.
